.2.

I think I have given you a date: that

could leave after the 18th October, but as I am be away for over a week in Edinburgh up to the 5th October, this does not give me much time on my return.

There is a further matter about my passport, I have seven blank pages for visas and am uncertain whether this will be enough, as 1 may break my journey for a few days on the way back to visit Addis Ababa (of course at my own expense); going out, as I told you, I may stop with a nephew of mine at Karachi for a night or two, but this will not affect the journey except for bookings.

If I need a new passport, I ought to be moving in the matter, very soon, unless the Colonial Office can save me from the necessity of obtaining the signature of a clergyman as to my character etc.

Yours sincerely,

Fremonding
